It was the 26th year Long & Foster took part in the holiday collection campaign. Many of the company's 200-plus offices across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast U.S. collected thousands of toys for the organization over the years. "At Long & Foster, we're proud to be a longtime supporter of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's annual Toys for Tots program and look forward to taking part each year," says P. Wesley "Wes" Foster Jr., chief executive officer and founder of The Long & Foster Companies. "Toys for Tots is a worthy cause that helps make sure that children who are less fortunate in our communities have a more cheerful holiday, and it brings us joy to contribute." Community members dropped off new, unwrapped toys at participating Long & Foster sales offices in late November and mid-December. Employees at the company's corporate offices also participated in the annual initiative, collecting donations at headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia. "Giving back to the many communities in which we live and work is important to our Long & Foster family, which is why we participate in the Toys for Tots drive year after year," says Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & Foster Companies. "The U.S. Marines have built a tremendous program with Toys for Tots, and our employees, agents, and their clients appreciate and enjoy the opportunity to share the holiday spirit with children who might not receive anything otherwise." Once the toys were collected and presented to the U.S. Marines, they were distributed through churches and social welfare agencies to the neediest Left: A portion of the Toys for Tots donations collected at The Long & Foster Companies' Chantilly, Virginia headquarters is ready to be loaded and delivered to area children.
